Maybe you are waiting for someone to do something.

Or, maybe you are doing, doing, gone.

(As in, gone a little past your sanity, trying to keep up with the world.)

Even if you are not in the thick of things, you can’t help but notice that others are. And it weighs.

We all have our place—what we care about, what we are uniquely suited to do, our personal energy levels and resources. Sometimes we might find ourselves at odds with others, but that’s to be expected where complexity is involved. And society is nothing if not complex. (Heck, forget society. Families are complex. Work can be complex. The noise in our own heads can be complex.)

And that is why it’s important to be good to you. This cannot wait. You’re the only you you’ve got.

The Good to You series aims to get you started today. Wherever you are. If you’re not feeling up to the prompt, just enjoy the little poems…
