is a yearly celebration among artists, where they take a month-long challenge. What’s the challenge? To create an ink drawing every day of October!
Maybe you are not an artist. That’s okay. As a poet, you also have ink at the ready.
Inktober has its own set of prompts, which you can find here.
How We’ll Do Inktober
While the official Inktober has 31 days of prompts, we’ll narrow that down to just one weekly prompt and tell you…
the prompt we chose
a room of the house where we set our poem
You’re invited to join us, writing to the prompt and setting your poem in the same room of your house.
Whether you also draw your poem is up to you. If you do, we hope you’ll post it to Notes! Alternately, you could take a picture of your inked poem and post that. Drop your link into the comment box and we’ll restack.
And, if for some reason you decide to write or draw on every day in October, tell us you’re doing it and share your poems and drawings. We’d love to see.
Prompt 1
Write a poem that contains “boots.” Compose your poem in your basement or garage. If you live in an apartment, you could use a closet instead. You can also just set your poem in one of these locations if you’d rather sit in your cozy chair and compose.
