is a yearly celebration among artists, where they take a month-long challenge. Whatâs the challenge? To create an ink drawing every day of October!
Maybe you are not an artist. Thatâs okay. As a poet, you also have ink at the ready.
Inktober has its own set of prompts, which you can find here.
How Weâll Do Inktober
While the official Inktober has 31 days of prompts, weâll narrow that down to just one weekly prompt and tell youâŠ
the prompt we chose
a room of the house where we set our poem
Youâre invited to join us, writing to the prompt and setting your poem in the same room of your house.
Whether you also draw your poem is up to you. If you do, we hope youâll post it to Notes! Alternately, you could take a picture of your inked poem and post that. Drop your link into the comment box and weâll restack.
And, if for some reason you decide to write or draw on every day in October, tell us youâre doing it and share your poems and drawings. Weâd love to see.
Prompt 1
Write a poem that contains âboots.â Compose your poem in your basement or garage. If you live in an apartment, you could use a closet instead. You can also just set your poem in one of these locations if youâd rather sit in your cozy chair and compose.
