In the chapter “Snowflake Eel,” Feyen has discovered an unusual and beautiful aquatic creature in the library and then gone back a second time to see it, but on that second day the eel is nowhere to be found.
An almost desperate need rises within Callie, to see the eel and to know that she's okay—to see that there is a possible “both”: exploration and reprieve.
In a poem or vignette, consider a “both” that you need to see in your life right now, or a “both” you needed to see when you were a child or during some other season in your past.
The “both” can be exploration and reprieve, or it can be something else. Begin your poem or vignette with “I need to see...”
