I love poemcrazy! It is a frequent play space for me. In my poetry presentations for students and teachers, I have often had participants write nouns on slips of paper. We then gather and scramble the notes; each person picks two for a newly minted compound word. They are invited to define the word and write a poem or story with it. I have kept the lists of new words and wonderful definitions!
we'd love to see some of your saved words, anne! it could be fun to share them with the community here (we were thinking of occasionally doing a "word pool wednesday" post—now you've got us... thinking afresh!)

ICE-SCREAM: the cry of someone with brainfreeze
SISTER-SING: the happy banter of female conversation
TURTLE-FALL: to land in way that you are unable to get up
TREE-SHINE: sunlight coming through leafy branches
CLOUD-RIDE: daydreaming
PHONE-WALK: the pacing or wandering of a person on their cell phone
SONG-TREE: your personal heritage of songs and their sources
